Mordecai the eagle owl at the Sokolarski Centre. They take in injured raptors and rehabilitate them before releasing them back into the wild. Mordecai is one of the permanent residents who can't be released due to her injuries.

They have a lot of Cocks of the Rock at San Diego Zoo. They're a bit easier to spot here than when we were in the jungle.
This is one of the few panda cubs that was born outside of China in San Diego Zoo's successful breeding program.
So we went to the world famous San Diego Zoo, and then spent ages taking photos of a squirrel.
Polar bears love rockmelon. Definitely not something we expected.
We visited on Valentine's Day, and you can see the love in the air.
As part of World Bonobo Day the zookeepers put peanut butter on the windows of the bonobo enclosure. It's clearly a favourite treat for them.

Monterey Bay Aquarium has lots of tanks full of different types of jellyfish slowly swirling around. They're very hypnotic to watch. Like a living lava lamp.
The sea otters at Monterey Bay Aquarium are absolutely adorable.
