Svalbard is full of polar bears. Every group that leaves town must carry a gun with them for protection.

The town of Longyearbyen is full of colourful houses. They are one of the few sources of colour in the high Arctic, a land of white snow and black rocks.

The landscape of Svalbard is full of snow and ice, even in the summer.
During breeding season these cliffs are full of nesting migratory birds. Because of all the bird droppings it's considered to be the greenest place in Svalbard.
Barentsburg is a remote Russian town in Svalbard in a bit of a time warp. It has renovated buildings for tourists but is still proud of its communist heritage.
Svolvaer is a town of brightly coloured houses nestled at the bottom of some impressive mountains.
