Into the Alhambra

It took a while but I finally got my Alhambra photos sorted, so here’s the results!

We went to Sacromonte in Granada which is the old Gypsy area and you can see that all the old traditional cave houses are still there and being lived in, and you can even go inside some to check them out. They’re a lot bigger and cosier then they look from the street.

When we finally made it to the Alhambra we had a freezing pre-dawn walk to get there, but we ended up with a pretty view once the sun finally came out.

Inside the (main) Nasrid Palace are insanely intricately carved walls, arches, ceilings, EVERYTHING.

Even the sparrows like the carvings. They had nests everywhere.

But it’s not just full of carvings, it’s got a pretty extensive set of gardens as well.

There’s also a cool bathhouse with a star-holed ceiling. I want to see them do this on one of the reno shows.

Oh, and the guys running Granada had a summer palace too, of course.

The summer palace (Generalife) of the Alhambra. Because apparently having another palace 500m away makes a BIIIIIIG difference in temperature.
